Canadia Bank, one of Cambodia’s leading locally-owned commercial banks since 1991, has successfully co-organized the “Phnom Penh, Our City, Our Home” clean-up drive in partnership with the Ministry of Environment (MoE), Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation (OCIC), and Koh Pich. The event, held at Koh Pich, brought together hundreds of volunteers to promote cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and civic engagement.
Presided over by Mr. Ke Vongwathana, honorary representative of His Excellency Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, the initiative aimed to engage the community in environmental conservation. The event is aligned with the Ministry’s Circular Strategy on Environment 2023-2028—Clean, Green, and Sustainable—and supports the national “Clean Cambodia, Khmer Can Do” campaign.
Over 500 volunteers, including representatives from the Ministry of Environment, Canadia Bank, OCIC, Koh Pich, and various partners and sponsors such as CINTRI (Cambodia), Intercare Hospital, Dara Hotels, Aviation Diamond Island, Ice Dome Cambodia, Canadian International School of Phnom Penh, and Nisset Plastic, participated in this event. Volunteers actively collected waste and promoted sustainable practices, raising awareness about environmental conservation and waste management in urban areas.
This initiative is part of Canadia Bank Cares’ social program, which prioritizes Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) as well as customers and community and reflects the bank’s commitment to fostering a cleaner and more sustainable environment for both current and future generations.
Canadia Bank remains committed to integrating sustainable practices into its actions, while supporting the Ministry of Environment’s national campaigns to drive positive environmental change in Phnom Penh and beyond.
